Hongkong Quickie

If I were superstitious, I would have looked at the series of delays in the flights to Europe as a foreboding of bad things to come. But I have learned to follow the more positive outlook – when thrown lemons, make lemonade.

We missed our connecting flight to Rome and was informed that the next one out would be after almost a day. That’s a sad prospect, (one way to look at it), but it could also be an opportunity for some exciting adventure. For one, the hotel assigned to us by the airline was one of the best airport hotels in the world – and it does offer some nice photo subjects. Or better yet, with so much time to spare, why not get out of the airport and check-out Hongkong instead?

And so I did. With gusto! It must have been 5 years since my last visit. And one funny thing I discovered, I was then booked in a hotel that was just a stone’s throw away from Victoria Harbor and I never even knew it! Now I have tons of photos to prove that I really had been there. He he.
